WELCOME TO VELOCCITY.

We have been growing our local program for over 15 years. We look forward to working with you to support local, diverse farms and businesses, tell their stories, and report your work using our industry leading Veloccity platform.

supporting local farmers

Midwest Foods cultivates relationships with urban and rural farm partners in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan. In Wisconsin, we continue to invest in our rural economy and support produce growers like David Parr—who works with over 100 Amish and Mennonite growers. And in Chicago, we work with Chicago Botanic Garden’s Windy City Harvest–a phenomenal program focused on growing local food, providing jobs, and addressing hunger and diet-related disease. You can read more about each of our farm partners, right here on Veloccity.

local reporting

cabbages, vegetables, food

We provide local reporting tools, including itemized local spend reports and percentage of local spend for every location. Itemized reports include farm or state source information, and we are able to filter reports for specific mileage to your location depending on YOUR definition of local.

farm to institution

blueberries, breakfast, muesli

By providing locally sourced produce from IL, IN, MI, and WI to our customers at institutions such as schools, senior living communities, airports, hospitals and sports venues–we’re strengthening our local and regional food chain.

Diversity and transparency

Veloccity will continue to advance transparency around what we see customers asking for most—certifications like organic and fair trade and business attributes like women, minority, or veteran-owned. We are proud to take steps together to increase your business’s spend to support diverse farms and businesses.

sustainability & community

sprout, leaf, growing

Certified by the Green Business Bureau at the platinum level, we reduce food waste by composting in our cafeterias, donating to our network of community partners, and composting all organic waste we produce.
